Ruth EsselRuth Essel, a final year Human Development and Psychology student at Regent, has been elected as the Women's Commissioner of the Private Universities Students' Association of Ghana (PUSAG).

She was elected at the recently held congress of PUSAG which took place from Thursday, August 15 to Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the main campus of All Nations University College, Koforidua.

After undergoing a mandatory vetting process and emerging as the candidate with the highest mark (96 % per the vetting scoring criteria); Ruth went on to win the election with a landslide victory, winning 98% of the total valid votes cast.

In a congratulatory letter to the newly elected Women's Commissioner, the Regent Ghana Students' Parliament has since commended Ruth on her achievement.

"The Speaker of the Regent-Ghana Students’ Parliament, on behalf of the executives and the citizens of the Regent-Ghana Students' Union (RGSU) congratulates you on the occasion of your election as the Women’s Commissioner of the Private Universities Students’ Association of Ghana (PUSAG). As a union, we take pride, as well as share in this great honour", the letter read.

"We are optimistic that you would effectively execute your duties with the association and promote the good name of the University."
